Extra-Curricular Activities and Clubs Lead: Miss J Rowe
We are proud to offer a huge variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs, each of which makes the most of an aspect of our excellent facilities or extensive outdoor areas.
Clubs take place before-school, after-school and at lunchtime on a termly cycle and run each week of the academic year (with the exception of the first week of the autumn term and last week of the summer term). They are offered with the aim of developing children’s personalities, talents and interests, allowing them the opportunity to relax, play and engage in a wide range of sporting, cultural and creative activities, and also to help to prepare teams to compete in the many sporting tournaments and events that we attend.
In line with our own ethos of removing barriers to participation and ensuring access for all, our extra-curricular activities are almost always provided free of charge.
Our extra-curricular activities and clubs are open to all children in Reception, Lower School and Upper School throughout the year. Clubs are also offered to Nursery children who have attended our setting for one full term or more.
An overview of clubs is shared via email and parents are able to request the clubs that they wish for their children to attend by completing an attached Google Form. Once a child is allocated a place in an extra-curricular activity or club, a confirmation text message is sent to parents from the school office.
Although oversubscription of clubs is rare, as every effort is made to ensure that staffing meets demand, every effort is made to ensure equitable access for all to these activities.
Every pupil who wishes to enrol is allocated at least one club and oversubscribed clubs may be split into a half a term rather than the whole term to give more pupils the opportunity to take part.
An overview of the clubs currently offered is available to download here:
We recommend that all of our children lead an active lifestyle. As part of this, we encourage them to pursue the activities that they enjoy outside of school. Lots of activities are free and they are a great way to make new friends and develop new skills.
