Expect the best from the beginning

In Reception, we follow the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework to provide a curriculum that is creative, inclusive, challenging and inspired by the real-world. We believe that every child is unique and we provide learning experiences that will engage all, creating an environment of awe and wonder. Children plan their learning with us and they are encouraged to share their ideas and ask questions. Our bespoke curriculum encourages children to be independent and helps them to develop a range of vital skills and knowledge.

The children in our Reception follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and this is based around seven areas of learning and development. These are broken down into three prime areas and four specific areas, each of which plays its part in building a foundation for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning through life.

Children’s learning is evidenced through photographs and observations. This enables parents/carers to ‘see’ their child’s learning and for practitioners to assess and plan each child’s next steps. The online learning journey, 2EvidenceMe, is used to do this.
